That video was very factual and interesting and explains how the earths warming up. I found out many things about Antarctica that is quiet interesting and useful.
That clip was amazing and taught me heaps of things. ( this is a lot of information!)
*Apparently Antarctic is nothing but boring *in antarctic there is about 30 million cubic km of ice *If you chop it up all of the ice every person would get an I've cube the size of the great pyramid of Giza *If Antarctic's ice sheets melted the worlds ocean would rise by 60m everywhere *most of the ice rests on rocks *ice that breaks free becomes icebergs *90% of an iceberg floats beneath the water *Antarctica is home to some of the worlds largest icebergs *Antarctica isn't only ice it's inlands are covered with valleys and almost no precipitation each year *Antarctica is largest desert in the world *whales eat about 400 000 tiny krill a day or 3600 kg of krill which is equal to feeding a human for about 4 year, they eat this much every day for 6 months!
Hi Mr. Waugh, this clip was super! I learnt a lot of new things!
- There are 30 million cubic kilometres of ice in Antarctica, and if we cut it all up, there would be a chunk for everyone in the world the size of The Pyramids of Giza.
- If Antarctica's ice sheets melted, the world's oceans would rise by 60 metres.
- 90% of an iceberg is underwater (just like Uluru by the way but underground)
- Not all of Antarctica is ice, it's inland is dry and hasn't rained in 20 million years!
- Blue whales eat 40 million krills each day. That's equivalent to 3,600kg! If we had that, that would last us 4 years!
Hi mr Waugh that Vidio is awesome and I think that will be one of the best clips for learning because it tells you it in a good way for us kids to under stand it.
Thanks for posting epic vids I hope you keep up with that.
Wow that was a very interesting clip. It is also interesting that metorites are easily found on Antractica. It is also interesting that a whale can eat up to 4,000,000 a day or 3600 for six months.
there is about 30 million cubic km of ice in antarctica also 90% of an ice berg is floating under the water. there are also more facts and it is a cool clip
Windiest place on earth 30 million cubic meters of ice If Antarctica melted sea levels would rise 60 meters 90% of an iceberg floats beneath the water Ice berg b15a is roughly the same size as Luxembourg Not rained in 2 000 000 million years
This weeks blog task was factual and I learnt a lot of such 30 million cubic meters of ice! Antarctica has an ice berg which is called the B15A ruffly the size of Luxembourg and antartica isn't all ice it has valleys
1. Windiest place on earth 2. 30 million cubic kilometres of ice 3. Chop it up and every person would get a bit of ice that is the size of the great pyramid of Giza 4. Most of Antarctica ice sits on top of rock 5. Ice that floats is called ice shelves 6. Ice that breaks free is called ice bergs By Serif
There is over 30 million cubic meters of ice If the ice in Antarctica was to melt there would be a 60 meter increase in the worlds sea water every where One whale eats 36 million krill a day enough to feed a human for about four years
Heyy, This video is actually really good. Later on i will het a peice of paper, write down all the facts i learnt and bring it to school to continue with the Antarctica KeyNote project :)
30 million cubic centermetres do ice Windiest place on earth Hasn't rained in 2 000 000 Years If Antarctica sea levels it will rise 60 meters Blue whales eat 40 million krill today
- Did you know if Antarctica was cut up to the size of Gisa's Pyramids, there would be enough for everyone in the world to have? - If Antarctica's ice sheets melted, the seas would rise 60 meters. - Most of Antarctica rests on rock. - 90% of an iceberg is under water. - Antarctica has the largest iceberg named B15A. It is as big as Luxembourg, Germany. - Antarctica does not rain at all. Last time it rained was two million years ago. - In 2002 the Larson ice shelf disintegrated. The ice shelf was as big as the state of Rhode Island, USA.
Dr mr Waugh this is a fantastic video that really helped with all my Antarctica research here are some things I learnt -if u cut up the ice everyone in the world would get the size of the pyramid of Giza -30 million cubic meters of ice -blue whales eat 40 million kills -it has not rained in 2 000 000yrs
